YG Entertainment to launch K

YG Entertainment is set to unveil their latest Hologram venture - 'K-Pop Hologram: YG at Everland'.

Yang Hyun Suk expressed, "YG Entertainment together with Everland, Korea Agency For Digital Opportunity And Promotion (KODA), and KT will be holding the opening ceremony for 'K-Pop Hologram: YG at Everland' tomorrow (July 20th), and begin our Hologram business venture."

YG Entertainment who has always pushed for the latest cultural products, creating lots of varied creative content with its contracted singers, and being at the forefront of the entertainment industry, recently linked up with KT and d'strict to pursue a whole new Hologram project known as Next Interactive K, Limited (NIK).

The first step of NIK was 'K-Pop Hologram: YG at Everland', and this is different from those usual short-term Hologram initiatives, in that it will be opened to the public on a long-term basis.

For this 'YG at Everland' initiative, YG was responsible for creating video content of its artistes like PSY, 2NE1, and Big Bang. Everland meanwhile will provide the infrastructure, designing input, video and audio equipment to play back the creative content.

The Hologram set will utilize Media Facade (projecting video content against a wall to make it larger) technology and present imagery that's even more captivating than the real thing. It would be akin to seeing singers from the video, appearing and performing right before your eyes.

With a total square feet of 383.4m, the Hologram set is set within the Global Fair of Everland Theme Park. Around 1,000 visitors can be accommodated at one time, and the display will be exhibited 16 times daily (30 minutes each).

The Hologram set will be pushed into service in the latter half of the year, and visitors to Everland Theme Park will be able to visit this attraction with no additional entry charges.

Meanwhile, the first set of videos will include PSY's 'Gentleman' and 'Gangnam Style', with Big Bang and 2NE1's concert footage to follow shortly next.
